Planning Protocol

At a meeting held on 13 July, Kenwyn Parish Council adopted the following protocol for dealing with planning applications received before its next meeting which is scheduled for 14 September.

1.  Request an extension of time from the planning officer

2.  If this is not possible, for simple or straightforward applications, the Clerk will notify all councillors upon receipt of an application and councillors will "respond to all" with their comments.  The Clerk together with the Chairman of the Planning Committee will formulate a response based on these comments.  The Clerk has delegated powers to respond to the planning authority.

3. If the planning application is likely to be contentious, the Chairman will call an Extraordinary Meeting of the Planning Committee.
