Community Benefit Fund
The Kenwyn Community Benefit Fund is a vital resource for supporting community initiatives across the parish. We encourage local groups, organisations and residents to apply for funding to help bring their ideas to life. Whether it is improving facilities, supporting events or enhancing sustainability, the fund is here to help.
Successful Projects We have Supported
Here are just a few examples of the fantastic projects that have benefitted from the Kenwyn Community Benefit Fund:
- Solar panels for Threemilestone Community Centre – helping reduce energy costs and keep hire fees affordable for community use
- Threemilestone Angling Club – installation of new fishing platforms to improve accessibility and enjoyment for members
- One Voice Community Choir – purchase of equipment and staging to support performances and community engagement
- Demential Medo Cafe – funding to support a calendar of events for those living with dementia and their carers
- Threemilestone School PTA – creation of a new play garden at the school to enhance outdoor learning and play
Who Can Apply
Eligible organisations include:
- Local voluntary and community groups
- Kenwyn Parish Council (including on behalf of informal community groups)
- School Parent Teacher Associations
- Social enterprises operating on a non-profit basis (eg co-operatives, CICs, development trusts)
- Applicants must have a written constitution or governing document and a bank account with at least 2 signatures

Projects must be located within or primarily benefit residents of Kenwyn Parish including

- Shortlanesend
- Idless
- Gloweth
- Greenbottom
- Newbridge
What Kind of Projects Are Supported
Priority is given to educational, environmental and community initiatives that align with sustainable development. Funding is available for
- Energy efficiency and small-scale renewable energy projects
- Building or landscaping for community benefit
- Environmental improvements (eg planting schemes)
- Physical recreation and wellbeing initiatives
- Climate change mitigation and nature conservation
- Other community focused projects within Kenwyn Parish
How The Panel Works
The Kenwyn Community Benefit Fund Panel meets throughout the year and convenes in person at least twice annually. Applications may also be reviewed and decided upon outside of these meetings. The panel ensures that all applications meet the published criteria and may request supporting documentation as needed.

- Wednesday 3 June 2026 - 17 applications were received and 10 were approved
- Thursday 27 August 2026
- Thursday 27 November 2026
If a number of applications are received between these dates, the awarding panel may hold additional meetings.
